What drives excavation cost
We base our costs on site access, soil and rock hardness, total dirt volume, and hauling distance. A machine that can back right up to the dig on firm ground works faster than one squeezing onto a tight, sloped or soft lot. We use hydraulic hammers for buried rock, and we pump out water when working in wet winter soil. We calculate your quote based on dig depth, machine size, and any final grading or topsoil spreading.
Cost by project type
We do short utility trenches for smaller budgets, while full basement digs and treed acre clearing take more time. We price land clearing based on how many trees, brush and stumps we need to pull. We quote drainage jobs based on trench length, depth, and the distance to a clear outfall. Because the same project type varies enormously from lot to lot, we quote a firm total only after seeing the site.
